Meta Platforms is a company that sells advertisements through Instagram and Facebook and Whatsapp. It also sells VR headsets.[1]

Meta's headset popularity peaked with the Quest 2.

Its HQ is in Menlo Park, California and run by Mark Zuckerberg. It was formerly known as Facebook.[2] It is not to be confused with Meta, which is the company that made the Meta 1 and Meta 2 augmented reality headsets.

Meta Platforms has owned Oculus VR, the maker of Oculus Rift gadgets. The deal included 400 million dollars in cash and 23.1 million shares of Facebook stock, valued at 1.6 billion dollars.

Under Facebook/Meta, Oculus has released the Rift S, the Oculus Quest, Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Quest 3 headsets. And the Oculus Go.
