Microelectronic machine manufacturing

Microelectronic machine manufacturing is the process of making integrated circuits, also known as chips.

The traditional process is to use a wafer and pattern multiple chips on it, and then cut it at the end into the chips. However, the machines for processing wafers are large.

It would be more space-efficient and simpler to cut the wafers into chips beforehand and do processing on a single die at a time. This could be called single-die processing.
