The Meta Quest 3 is a virtual reality (VR) headset developed by Meta Platforms. Released in October 2023. It has flat focus.
It is flat-focus biscopic stereoscopic.
It uses a pair of LCD displays with a per-eye resolution of 2064×2208 viewed through pancake lenses.[1]
The Quest 3 is backward compatible with all Quest 2 software.
The Quest 3 has color passthrough.
The Quest 3 is locked down. It requires a separate smartphone to set up the device. It is impossible to develop apps for the headset on the headset itself. It is impossible to put a custom operating system on the headset. It has a locked bootloader.
