Etendue is a concept in optics. It is the product of the display area and the maximum solid angle of diffracted light of a holographic display or spatial light modulator.[1]

Etendue of table-top holographic displays is the product of the viewing angle and the display size. For near-eye displays, it is the product of the field-of-view (FOV) and the eyebox size.
