Swave is a holographic display chip startup. As of the year +2024 A.D., they are engineering high pixel density spatial light modulators.[1] Swave has made claims about their technology that are not true as of 2024.[2]
The compute power needed to drive a Swave display as announced is large. (at decent resolution and a FOV above 15 degrees)
Swave is developing holographic displays, but the algorithms used can only generate two-dimensional holograms that are varifocal, which eliminates all the benefits of using the technology. It is a hype machine.
