A steerable beam is a source of light that acts as a ray that can have its direction changed rapidly and in a number of directions.

A steerable beam can act as a superpixel.

It can be a component of a flat-panel light field display.

It can be done using Isaac Newton's mechanics, but this limits its speed and efficiency.

It can be done using a phased array.
