A reflexive eye movement is an involuntary movement of the eyes that occurs in response to certain stimuli or triggers. Reflexive eye movements are automatic and are controlled by the brainstem and other parts of the central nervous system. They serve various functions such as maintaining visual stability, tracking moving objects, and adjusting focus.

It is named that way because it is a reflex.
