NextVR is virtual reality capture and delivery technology company based in Laguna Beach, California. The company started as Next3D, a 3D TV broadcast technology company. It switched over to VR in 2012. NextVR is able to capture and transmit live HD, 3D VR content over the internet, delivering an immersive and life-like experience. NextVR's system, Live VR, is being tested in sports events and is available on all VR Devices.

After teaming up with Live Nation to stream hundreds of concerts in VR starting in July 2016, NextVR has developed an event truck that can handle the live mixing of stereoscopic 3D video and 3D audio.

NextVR also launched LIFE VR after partnering with Times Inc. to create live stream and on-demand 360 Video content for the publishing giant.

Live VR allows the user to stream live HD, 360 degrees, 3D VR content over the internet anywhere in the world. Live VR is being tested in sports events with its unique camera solutions. It uses a custom made 360 degrees, stereoscopic 3D camera system composed of multiple RED 6K cameras. The entire setup is worth $180,000.

October 20, 2016: NextVR announced that they have partnered with the NBA to broadcast games weekly, in VR. You will need the NBA League Pass to watch the broadcasts.

August 9, 2016: NextVR announced that it has raised 80 million dollars in Series B round of funding. The funding round was led by Formation 8 and joined by Comcast Ventures and Time Warner Investments.

November 11, 2015: NextVR announced that it has raised 30.5 million dollars in Series A. The funding round was led by Formation 8 and joined by Comcast Ventures and Time Warner Investments.

February 17, 2016: NextVR announced that they signed a 5-year deal with Fox Sports to bring their sporting events to VR. It will start with the live broadcast of 58th DAYTONA 500 to NextVR's Gear VR app.

May 4, 2016: NextVR has teamed up with Live Nation to broadcast hundreds of concerts and performances in VR.

May 5, 2016: NextVR has partnered with Times Inc. to create live stream and on-demand 360 video content on their new platform called LIFE VR.
