Michael Abrash

Michael Abrash is a software engineer and VR supporter. He has written books on programming.

He joined Valve Software, as a developer, where he researched Virtual Reality. He became Oculus VR's chief scientist.

Michael Abrash was working at Microsoft, and was approached by John Carmack, from Id Software. Quake was being developed by the company. Abrash knew Carmack previously from the M&T bulletin board when both were learning how to write 3D graphics code. Abrash joined Id software and the development team of Quake.

He spoke at Oculus Connect 3.
