The iPhone 6 is the most popular iPhone ever, along with the iPhone 6 plus.

The iPhone 6 line was succeeded by the iPhone 6s.

Internals[edit]

The iPhone 6 and 6 plus use an IMU from Invensense: the InvenSense MP67B.[1]

Display[edit]

The 6 and 6 plus display have different internal FPC connectors.[2]

The displays use MIPI DSI.

The iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1334x750, and the iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution of 1920x1080.

The iPhone 6 Plus has a PPI of about 401.[3] Its display size is 5.5 inches diagonal. The dimensions are 4.79 x 2.69 inches.[3]

The displays each have two connectors: one for the LCD, and one for the touch screen digitizer.

The designation for the connector on the motherboard of the iphone 6 plus or the iphone 6 for the LCD connector of the display is "J2019".

Light field conversion[edit]

The iPhone 6 and 6 plus displays are generally unsuitable for conversion into a plenoptic microlens-based light field near eye display head mounted display unit that displays for both eyes. Potentially, one display per eye could be used with optics that squash each image vertically to result in higher vertical pixel density, which would result in about 650 PPI vertically for the iPhone 6 and 800 for the iPhone 6 plus.
