Haptics is technology that produces the sense of touch through physical stimulation. It is also called tactile feedback.
When a user picks up a cup in the virtual world, the user should feel the realistic sensations of a cup in his hand. Even though the cup is not present in the real world.
In traditional video game controllers, "rumble" is often used to produce tactile feedback.
bHaptics is a Korean start-up focused on creating haptic feedback accessories for VR.[1] The company is a part of HTC Vive's accelerator program. They sell two versions of a vest called TactSuit x40 or x16 with a number of haptics accessories There were 75 games that natively supported the bHaptics TactSuit x40 or x16 in virtual reality. These games can be downloaded from SteamVR, Oculus (Quest and Rift), and SideQuest.[2][3]
