Figment VR is a Virtual Reality Slide-on HMD for iPhones. Created by Quantum Bakery, Figment VR is designed specifically for the Apple iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. It was launched on Kickstarter on November 17, 2015 and successfully funded on January 13, 2016.

Designed as an iPhone case, Figment VR is a gadget that allows the user to experience VR content on the go. The sleekness and pocket-friendly design of Figment VR makes it a unique and portable VR device.

Hardware[edit]

Figment VR is a VR viewer that weighs around 2 ounces. When not in use, the gadget folds into a protective and slick polycarbonate and aluminum case. It is not meant for heavy VR gaming because the entire phone and Figment VR setup will occupy at least one hand of the user. Furthermore, due to lightweight and portability, it is a cheaper solution to VR. Since Figment VR a phone case, it’s meant to stay with you at all times [1]

Figment VR is a virtual reality system that can easily fit in the user’s pocket. The sturdy case protects the phone as well as provides Virtual Reality on the go. The core feature of Figment VR is to provide an immersive VR experience in any place or situation. The HMD enables the user to move his/her head and experience 360 degree views with depth perception [2].

Price and Release Date[edit]

The retail price of Figment VR set by Kickstarter is $79 but the users who will pre-order the product are getting an early bird discount of $10, making the price to be $69. The release date of Figment VR is not announced yet [3].
