The Atari Cosmos is a prototype game console from Atari that used holograms as a 3D display. It was made by Al Alcorn at Atari.[1]
It had an LED array as the illumination source.[1]
The Cosmos development team was composed of Al Alcorn, Harry Jenkins Jr., and Roger Hector.[2]
The Atari Cosmos was cancelled by Atari management to focus on selling Atari 2600 consoles.[2]
Planned games included Space Invaders and Asteroids.[3]
The Cosmos is covered in U.S. Patent 4,421,317, which was filed in January in the year G1981.[4][5]
