Pop in is a visual phenomenon where virtual objects suddenly enter the center of a user's field of vision. It happens when in a low FOV AR headset like a Magic Leap 1, and turning the head, which makes objects pop into the center field of view. It happens because the output of the waveguide does not cover the entire transparent piece for the entire eye's field of view.

Pop in happens with AR headsets with field of view of about 40 or 50 degrees.
