An LED chip is a semiconductor component that is at the core of a light emitting diode. When a current is applied to an LED chip, electron holes recombine and create light that can be seen by the human eye.
It is also known as an unpackaged LED.
An LED chip is a junction diode. It has only two electrical connections: a cathode and an anode. Positive voltage should be applied to the anode.
