Direct interaction is a method of computer interaction that involves a user placing his finger in space directly at where an object appears to be to interact with it. It is when a users fingertip is at the exact point of a digital object controlled by the user. In 3D, this can be done with hand tracking and an augmented reality headset.
An extension of direct interaction is to use a pen as a pointing device, where the tip of the pen is the point.
