Vestibulo-ocular reflex

The vestibulo-ocular reflex is a reflex that keeps your eyes pointed to the same location in space when your head moves.

The vestibular system signals how fast the head is rotating, and the oculomotor system responds by rotating the eyes in a velocity that is opposite in direction and equal in magnitude.[1]

VOR works in total darkness.[2]
