A computer is an electronic machine that processes data and provides a human-readable interface for a user.
Computers manipulate representations of reality. Computers were originally arithmetic machines; Alan Turing was the first to think about a computer as a tool that could take any logical action, such as character manipulation or making chess moves.[1]
