Half Dome is a series of prototype varifocal headsets from Reality Labs at Meta Platforms.
The original half dome was detailed at F8 2018.[1]
Meta has not sold any of the half dome displays.
The lineup includes:
- Half Dome 1 - mechanical
- Half Dome 2 - mechanical
- Half Dome 3, 2019, electro-optic
The Butterscotch varifocal is a headset that came after the Half Dome 3.[2]
Half Dome 3[edit]
Half Dome 3 uses multiple liquid crystal lenses to change the focus of the optics.[3]
