Oculus Insight is the tracking system used on the Oculus Quest.[1] It is an untethered 6DOF tracking system. The tracking works for a headset and for wireless controllers at the same time.[2]
It is also present for the Rift S.[2]
It was announced at Oculus Connect 5.
It uses SLAM, which is based on VIO.[2] It uses SLAM to track the headset position, and constellation tracking to track the controller positions, meaning there is no map sharing.[2]
A similar system is used on the Quest Pro, but the controllers are self-tracking. They have cameras built in, meaning they do not use the constellation system.
