Chromatic aberration correction is a method for reducing distortion in VR headsets. It involves applying a rendering pass to the rendered content before it goes into the lenses of a VR headset, to fix chromatic aberration.

2010s-era VR headsets commonly have cheap lenses that have a lot of chromatic aberration around the edges of the images. One way to fix this is by applying a layer or shader in software to pre-distort the image on the screen (or screens) of the headset before it goes through the lens.
