A computer is an electronic machine that processes data and provides a human-readable interface for a user.
Computers manipulate representations of reality.
A personal computer is a computer that an individual owns or uses. A server computer is a computer that serves other computers.
One of the most efficient uses of a personal computer is to access servers over the internet. In doing so, computers require infrastructure for internet access, such as fiber-optic networks that go long distances between cities and other places.
Computers were originally arithmetic machines. Alan Turing was the first to think about a computer as a tool that could take any logical action, such as character manipulation or making chess moves.[1]
